Clearly it's time for more coffee...
Feb. 23rd, 2010 10:28 amJust emailed the B&B in Hay-on-Wye to ask where the bus stop was, since that's how we're coming in from Hereford, and was told it stops in front of the castle. I'd vaguely registered that The Bear (where we are staying) is in a 400 year old building, but it somehow had escaped my attention that Castle Street actually has a castle on it. It's apparently partially full of used books. I am filled with gleeful anticipation.
And speaking of anticipation, con_or_bust, the scholarship fund auction for bringing more fen of color to WisCon, goes live tomorrow, Wednesday, February 24th. There are already many awesome things on offer but I shall plug ours because I can. JoSelle Vanderhooft and I are offering a 2 book package of Haunted Hearths and Sapphic Shades: Lesbian Ghost Stories and Sleeping Beauty, Indeed and Other Lesbian Fairytales. The package includes stories by Melissa Scott, Catherynne M. Valente, Lynne Jamneck, Lyn McConchie, Meredith Schwartz, Elise Matthesen, Selina Rosen, Erzebet YellowBoy and M. Christian. And each book has finaled for several awards. Such a deal and for a good cause. Please spread the word and bid.
