So we scheduled our trip to the U.K. to coincide with the (supposed) end of one of my projects and with Spring Break at the U. since Jana's teaching there this semester. Naturally, this is the same time period that the Women with Vision 2010 Film Series at the Walker Art Center will be premiering "The Runaways" movie. There are very few films I'm dying to see right now, but this would be one of them. Sigh. I'm worried that there won't be enough scary robots and explosions for it (not to mention presumably passing the Bechdel test) to get picked up by the other theaters in town, but hopefully I'm wrong about that. I'm a (not terribly) secret Joan Jett fan and have recently been checking out some of The Runaways ouevre as well. Those were some seriously energetic concerts and the music is definitely growing on me. From what I can remember, I spent their original years of fame and fortune and band-togetherness listening to The Grateful Dead and sundry other bands of that ilk. I'm all better now. The Runaways, incidentally, led full and interesting creative lives post -breakup as well, encompassing everything from more music to music production to film to chainsaw carving. I suppose I'll be ordering the DVD version of the film if nothing else.

The second guessing is spilling over into the current writing projects as well. I'm wrestling with outlining Silver Moon in hopes that it will speed up the writing. I'm finding that this is a very organic project, very linear and prone to coming along in its own sweet time. Right now, I contemplating whether or not to move a scene I just wrote to later on in the book and haven't really made up my mind yet. Got 3+ pages of outline though, so that's something.

In kitty news, Maat (we're giving up the apostrophe for the sake of our vet) has finally grown into her nose. She had a little squished in Persian face for a while there and is now looking much more classic Mau. Turns out that they're both probably allergic to chicken, of all things. Damn near every cat food has chicken in it, even the supposedly all fish ones. This promises to be fun. :-(
