Just emailed the B&B in Hay-on-Wye to ask where the bus stop was, since that's how we're coming in from Hereford, and was told it stops in front of the castle. I'd vaguely registered that The Bear (where we are staying) is in a 400 year old building, but it somehow had escaped my attention that Castle Street actually has a castle on it. It's apparently partially full of used books. I am filled with gleeful anticipation.

And speaking of anticipation, con_or_bust, the scholarship fund auction for bringing more fen of color to WisCon, goes live tomorrow, Wednesday, February 24th. There are already many awesome things on offer but I shall plug ours because I can. JoSelle Vanderhooft and I are offering a 2 book package of Haunted Hearths and Sapphic Shades: Lesbian Ghost Stories and Sleeping Beauty, Indeed and Other Lesbian Fairytales. The package includes stories by Melissa Scott, Catherynne M. Valente, Lynne Jamneck, Lyn McConchie, Meredith Schwartz, Elise Matthesen, Selina Rosen, Erzebet YellowBoy and M. Christian. And each book has finaled for several awards. Such a deal and for a good cause. Please spread the word and bid.

Hey, sweetie, I'd never dug deep enough into your multifarous existence to realize that you edit books. I know you write, sure, but compiling lesbian ghost stories -- what a terrific thing for one's c.v. !!

I did flog the auction on my LJ just now -- http://devifemme.livejournal.com/810112.html

Hope your offering raises lots of loot!

Hugs, J

Awesome! Thanks, hon! :-D
I'm actually in the early staging of doing a new anthology with another author; this one will be lesbian sorceresses and magic users. No erotica in either antho, but hopefully fun reads.

Couldn't you work a bit of girl-on-girl sex into the sci-fi sorcery?

Hmmmm?

I'm thinking the 2 short story collections and the forty plus stories will have to suffice for the moment. :-)

Just teasing, sweetie!

Congrats again on the new book! And likewise it's great that you support minority involvement in your field!

Mo' kisses! J

Lyn McConchie? I remember when one of her fellow writers goaded her into writing Victorian porn and then got it published without her knowledge. And now Lesbian stories. I guess losing her cherry really did change things for her. Go girl.

The story in question is a sweet ghostly romance and she was great to work with.
