Name that Author
Jan. 19th, 2013 02:15 pmIt has dawned on me that the time has come for a writing pseudonym. When I first began writing, there was no such thing as Google and a career in IT had not yet dawned on me. It didn't matter what I called myself because my level of writerly visibility was pretty low, plus I was a clerical temp and no one cared. Then I got in IT and the world changed. And while I don't mind signing books and stories for folks at my day job, I'd like to be a tad more selective about it. It was also make marketing somewhat easier, or so I think now. So the plan at the moment is that I'll use a pseudonym for my erotica and erotic romance and my own name for everything else. We'll see how that goes for a bit.
I'm currently taking suggestions for a name for "other me." Frontrunners include:
Emily Byrne (with assorted options on middle names or initials)
Kat Lund, which has a certain symmetry to it
I'm avoiding silly/porn star names, names of close friends and relatives, and names used by other writers as much as possible. Got any thoughts on that, oh DW/LJ communities?
