I realize that the fact that I don't do these weekly makes them look enormous. There are whole nights when I crash and burn and watche TV and/or read nonimproving books and such, honest. Sometimes, whole mornings too.

But in the meantime...
  • Job hunting - one interview so far and several resumes sent out. Descriptions for the jobs in question are surprisingly vague, which always makes me a bit anxious, But then at the last gig, I wasn't permitted to do most of what they supposedly hired me for so who knows?
  • Medical/Jana stuff - had a consultation with an eldercare attorney and it was very helpful in terms of getting me unglued from the ceiling. I had thought that medical spend down, if we have to go that route, applied to the spouse in community as well as the one needing care, but it turns out that assumption is incorrect under 65 (unless I need to go on it too), so she gave me some goals and I'm starting to tackle those. I got our shots scheduled for flu and boosters and followed up with our GP on sundry things now that my insurance is once more sorted (yay for the broker that Elise sent me to, who has been a huge help). And I/we're interviewing a companion care PCA next week.
  • How is she? Not spectacular, but I did manage to set up a video call with one of her friends and she's been out and about with one or two others. She asked me to take her to lunch yesterday, which was something new, so that's all good. I'm contemplating whether or not I can get our proverbial shit together enough to go out to Osseo on a week day and take the fall colors train tour, since even if I get a job offer soon, it will be a couple of weeks to get approval, a laptop, background check and so forth.
  • Queen of Swords Press - did two events, St. Cloud Pride and Pagan Pride, both quite successful. The Tiny Diner Tiny Art Market this Wednesday got cancelled, but we will be at Dancing Bear Chocolate in North Minneapolis this Sunday (9/25) for the Sunday Market, which will have a mix of tasty treats, veggies, books and art (the latter two being from us). I had a nice talk with a new to us author whose novella I've been sitting on for a bit - new announcement coming soon, hopefully. Have been discussing the cover for Wolfpack, Rem Wigmore's sequel to Foxhunt with both Rem and cover artist Laya Rose - should have progress to report on this soon. I'm also reading another submission and should be sending out a contract for review on that soon too. We also have tons of events coming up, with something pretty much every weekend that involves me and lots of additional things for our authors. Whee!
  • What else have I been doing: went to the MIA with Julia from Bingley's Teas and started discussing a new tea blend (also the show on French Revolution contemporary fashion and music was interesting); went to the MN Arboretum and Apple House with Sheila (the apples are amazing this year!); went to the Lake Harriet Rose Garden with Jana in time to see the roses still in bloom; went Bryant Lake Bowl with Matt and saw the latest Mysterious Old Radio Listening Society show, which was delightful as always; was hoping to catch a matinee of "3000 Years of Longing," but am a bit too migrainey for that today; watched most of Season 3 of "Murder, She Wrote," because the library had it and have started an audiobook of Lathe of Heaven by Ursula Le Guin; sold some of Jana's tools and am in discussions for selling more; sold some clothes on consignment and organized more for a followup trip next week. Oh, and did some writing and a whole lot of administrativa, including requesting our absentee ballots.
So lots of stuff, but still need to tackle class proposals, class planning and get some short story proposals and fiction out the door. Onward!
