Elisa Rolle is hosting a book giveaway/treasure hunt to celebrate the 6th Anniversary of the Rainbow Awards. There are still copies of "Silver Moon" and "A Day at the Inn, A Night at the Palace and Other Stories" up for grabs -

Outwords Books (a lovely little GLBT bookstore, which I hope is there for years to come) in Milwaukee named "Silver Moon" as one of its "Top Picks" -

In other news, I finished the first draft of my steampunk ghost story and plan to gut and rewrite it tonight. "Blood Moon" has now cleared 12k words and my cyberpunk sfnal smut novel has cleared 17k words. Not Nano levels, certainly, but progress.

Congrats to Tena, who's won a copy of "Bitten by Moonlight," edited by JoSelle Vanderhooft (Zumaya Press, 2011) and Cat Rambo, who's won a copy of "Haunted Hearths and Sapphic Shades," edited by me (Lethe Press, 2008). Thanks for playing, everyone! :-)

at midnight, of course. Details here.
So far, I've got multiple votes for werecreatures, mostly wolves and dragons. Also a phoenix, Cthulhu, the Goa'uld, griffins, zombies, unicorns, the
púca, witches' familiars (as a general category), mermaids, coatl, wraiths, vampires and the jiang shi.

Quite the assortment, though no ghosts which is interesting given the time of year and one of the prizes. What else you got?

Spontaneous Halloween Book Giveaway: Tell me your favorite supernatural creature by midnight on 10/31 to be entered to win a copy of the anthologies "Haunted Hearths and Sapphic Shades" or "Bitten by Moonlight: Lesbian Werewolf Novellas."

I edited "Haunted Hearths," which includes stories by many terrific writers (Melissa Scott, Lyn McConchie, Kaite Walsh, Selina Rosen, Lynne Jamneck, M. Christian and others) and I'm a contributor to "Bitten by Moonlight," which includes the original novella version of "Silver Moon."

Good luck! :-)
