you're at your partner's art opening at the Minnesota Center for Bookarts talking to her artist buddies and the next thing you know, you're committing to going down to Iowa later on this summer to get yourself married? Last night was like that. Folks lined up two deep to be in the wedding party and to officiate and throw parties and roadtrip down when we decide on a timeline.
And it looks like we're going to do it.
More on that when I don't have the tail end of an eyeball-melting migraine and it all seems less surreal.

Second, my sympathy on the migraine.

Interestingly, I had to delay our wedding because of a migraine (I didn't know what I was having back when...but in retrospect, heh. And it's good to have a partner who's all prepared for living with a migraineur. ;-) )

I do, though honestly the decision has more to do with getting to see Iowa do really well off it so they keep doing it, and for Minnesota's evil Republican gov to get clobbered over the lost income, than with any sudden new appreciation of the institution. We did meet in Iowa so it seems only right to return to the scene of the crime. :-)

Definitely! It'll be in Iowa City for sure, since that's where we met and we still have quite a few friends down that way. Probably August - I need to check on when my mom wants to come out and when our friends are in town. :-)
