The St. Cloud Times has discovered that rabidly homophobic and rightwing U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann is  in fact an utterly useless "extremist" wingnut -

This then begs the question - did they just fail to notice this for all the years that she was the state rep for their district? She's really not one for personal growth and transformation. Well, I guess it's nice that they finally decided it was okay to say it in public.

I've long been annoyed by the Bachmann news blackout in the St. Cloud Times and the Avista Capital Partners Star Tribune.

Apropos of Bachmann, the video in this Talking Points Memo post (http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/03/beholdthe-bachmann-effect.php) is hilarious. People exposed to Bachmann's lunacy all seem to get the same look on their face.

What really shoots her in the foot (in my view at least) is her disregard for ethics. During the campaign, she appeared at a church, courtesy of the Reverend Mack "If You're Rich, It's Because God Loves You" Hammond, and proclaimed she was a "Fool for Christ." Now, her religious views are her business. But when election officials stated that this appearance violated Minnesota law, she (and Hammond) acted all innocent. Better to beg forgiveness than ask permission, I guess. :-\
