You'd be good for at least 3 years, b/c two consecutive legislatures must vote to change the constitution. This year's won't.

As Scalzi suggested, 3 years is a lot of time to hold onto bigotry and hate.

Unfortunately, I have complete faith when it comes to certain mentalities. :-(
But I do love the fact that Iowa was first in the Midwest. When I lived down in Iowa City, I spent a lot of time defending the state so I'm glad to see things live up to my expectations rather than down to my fears. :-)
