So far, I'm just tired but I figure the writing's on the wall. Hope everyone who's already had it is doing better and that it goes away quickly.

We've somehow acquired a short roommate waiting list, based on whether or not people are coming alone or with friends/partners. I'll be happy to add you to it and keep you posted but I suspect you'll want a back up plan.

Uh-oh. I'm hearing about others just getting it now, too. I'm okay, so far, and inexpressibly thankful not to have had to cope with it on the plane rides.

Actually, the very same plague, or its nearly identical twin, seems to have been occurring in this area as well, so even if I get it I won't know where it came from.

Hope you're both all better soon. At least it seems to be brief.

May the healthiness continue! I'm actually still okay in a wow, do I need more sleep kind of way. Jana's feverish but doing slightly better.
I think one of my work colleagues in another department had something similar last week so it does seem to be making the rounds. :-(

Uggg, get better Jana! So far (knocking on wood) I haven't succumbed, but hearing about new occurrences striking even now does not warm the cockles of my heart. I wonder if we'll ever see a final "plague report" on exactly what struck and how many succumbed.

I think the con has been trying to gather info - as someone put it, "Science fiction fans by day, epidemiologists by night." Possibly the only good line out of the whole mess.

Thank you! She does seem to be doing better than a few hours ago so we're both still planning on tomorrow night, barring unforeseen circumstances.

My sister had it and it turned into double pneumonia because she didn't take care of herself.

I hope Jana recovers quickly. After I convinced myself that I was functional on Monday, I decided to eat after about 30 hours of fasting, so I went for dinner with Elissa Malcohn(also staying at the hostel) at the Cafe Costa Rica next door (one of the few cafes open on Memorial Day). Not a great plan.

I could barely eat half the food on my plate, then my diarrhea got worse - prob. the Costa Rican spices. I was on an upper bunk in a dorm in the hostel, and had to climb up & down all night, unlocking & relocking the room door each time because one of the other residents wanted it locked at night.

In the airport, Elissa & I ran into upstart crow, who told us about the photo scandal. I attended that panel and had no clue that anyone was taking photos, let alone that they were intended to ridicule the panelists and (by extension) WisCon as a whole.

Not great for calming the stomach.

Then I came home to Sask on 2 planes - bumpy rides due to turbulence. Yoy.

I came home to all sorts of news about upcoming Pride Week here, which promises to be a good time in spite of glitches.

The same could be said for WisCon. I can hardly imagine how wondrous it would be if I go again in the future & get to stay bug-free and luxuriously housed.
