And the plague has struck here too...
May. 27th, 2008 08:59 pmJana is now sick. :-(
So far, I'm just tired but I figure the writing's on the wall. Hope everyone who's already had it is doing better and that it goes away quickly.

Date: 2008-05-28 02:50 am (UTC)We enjoyed meeting you too. And may I say you have excellent timing? Rob had just asked me to dredge my sleep-deprived brain for queer women writers to invite to Gaylaxicon and there you were. :-)
I gather D.C. is unlikely?

Date: 2008-05-28 02:54 am (UTC)Would you and she be willing to have a hotel roommate if I can?

Date: 2008-05-28 03:01 am (UTC)We've somehow acquired a short roommate waiting list, based on whether or not people are coming alone or with friends/partners. I'll be happy to add you to it and keep you posted but I suspect you'll want a back up plan.

Date: 2008-05-28 02:23 am (UTC)Actually, the very same plague, or its nearly identical twin, seems to have been occurring in this area as well, so even if I get it I won't know where it came from.
Hope you're both all better soon. At least it seems to be brief.

Date: 2008-05-28 02:51 am (UTC)I think one of my work colleagues in another department had something similar last week so it does seem to be making the rounds. :-(
The Plague, The Plague
Date: 2008-05-28 02:42 am (UTC)Get better folks!
Re: The Plague, The Plague
Date: 2008-05-28 02:53 am (UTC)I think the con has been trying to gather info - as someone put it, "Science fiction fans by day, epidemiologists by night." Possibly the only good line out of the whole mess.
Here's hoping for continued happy immune systems!

Date: 2008-05-28 05:09 am (UTC)My sister had it and it turned into double pneumonia because she didn't take care of herself.
Take care of you and yours.

Date: 2008-05-28 05:38 am (UTC)I could barely eat half the food on my plate, then my diarrhea got worse - prob. the Costa Rican spices. I was on an upper bunk in a dorm in the hostel, and had to climb up & down all night, unlocking & relocking the room door each time because one of the other residents wanted it locked at night.
In the airport, Elissa & I ran into upstart crow, who told us about the photo scandal. I attended that panel and had no clue that anyone was taking photos, let alone that they were intended to ridicule the panelists and (by extension) WisCon as a whole.
Not great for calming the stomach.
Then I came home to Sask on 2 planes - bumpy rides due to turbulence. Yoy.
I came home to all sorts of news about upcoming Pride Week here, which promises to be a good time in spite of glitches.
The same could be said for WisCon. I can hardly imagine how wondrous it would be if I go again in the future & get to stay bug-free and luxuriously housed.
