RIP, Jody Williams

I want to pay tribute to the passing on of yet another friend. Artist Jody Williams was primarily one of Jana's friends. She was a lovely human who made beautiful books and sculptures and was a greatly beloved instructor wherever she taught. She and Jana were in many shows together and served on the Ampersand Society board for a number of years. Most significantly for us, when we decided to get married in Iowa in 2009, Jody was one of the folks who leapt forward to support us. She was a member of our tiny wedding party as well as, if memory serves,the baker of a truly amazing dairyfree cake that we ate afterwards. I spoke to her a few weeks ago and she was really hoping she'd get to go visit family in Chicago before the snow flew. I'll miss her for both of us. And if there's an afterlife for good, if not particularly religious people, I hope she runs into John Calvin Rezmerski and they get to hang out together.
