Went to see "Persepolis" last night. Wow. It so works. Loved the animation, loved the way the book converted to the movie. It was even easy to follow if you haven't read the books (tested this on other people, since I've read all of them). Fabulous, fabulous job.
Now, to be anticlimactic, off to go paint kitchen cabinet doors and contemplate.

Oh oh oh, that's out now! It's not playing anywhere near me right now, though. Does is just cover the first book (which I've read) or the rest as well? I should just go by the rest to tide me over 'til I can see it, anyway.

It's actually the first 2 books rolled into one so they cut some things but it works surprisingly well. The other books are kind of like filler - all the episodes she cut out of the first two books. I may have to go see it again. :-)

Well, I've got the movie in my Netflix queue now, at least. I have time to go hunt down book 2!

Glad to hear it's good from a reliable (IMO) source. :) I look forward to it coming to I.C. (prolly the Bijou of course our theaters are now even LESS cool than when you guys lived here).

But seriously, worth seeing even if you have to drive. I love the way her grandmother turns out on screen.
Re: the lecture. Sigh - probably will not be able to make it down. The IT/book promotion gods are jealous ones.
You'll have to go and tell me whether or not they can stop her from chain smoking. :-)
