Catching up to July
Jul. 7th, 2019 07:13 pmIt's been a lively week and some change. The furnace and the A/C are in, pending inspection, which will happen later on this week. Now, I can move on to fretting about the attic, which needs to get fixed before the snow flies, the bathroom, which now has a huge HVAC system running through it and accompanying holes in the ceiling and floor, and the basement, which has ancient linoleum tiles that needs must come up some time in the nearish future. Such fun! In short, I have not been living my life as though "Netherfield Park has been let at last!," to borrow a phrase from Drunk Austen.
Apart from that and a great deal of day job, I went to an entertaining evening of feminist comedy at the Parkway Theater with friends I don't see very often, went to see the phenomenal Hearts of Our People: Native American Women's Art at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, took a bee keeping-lite class at the Tiny Diner, saw the disappointing Men in Black: International, went to a combination tea party Gentleman Jack viewing and hung out with friends. I'm still wrestling with submissions and with the Sherlock Holmes story. Cover reveals are coming soon for various projects though and so we persevere. After a vigorous day of Mom outing and cooking for the week, I'm back to the grindstone.
