Gilbert & Sullivan!
Feb. 16th, 2018 03:52 pm and other improbably, but well-done, politicized things. We went to Park Square Theater's production of Pirates of Penzance on Valentine's Day and it was splendid. They gender-swapped the role of the Major-General, worked in historical detail about some of the women involved in the original G&S productions and nanechecked Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Frederick Douglass in a patter song. At one point, one of the other characters cut off the Major-General mid-speech and she asided to the audience, "Nevertheless, she persisted." And there was more. It was clever and fun and the audience loved it. Recommended for locals!
Soending the weekend doing taxes, catching up, hopefully finishing a story draft or two and seeing Black Panther on Sunday. Looking forward to it!
