Just did my first round of rejection letters for "Haunted Hearths" so if you didn't get an email from me today, you passed the first cut. I'm expecting some more stories from folks I gave extensions to, so it'll be a few weeks before I can start sending out change requests and so forth.
Spent the morning chatting with a prospective cover artist. I'm really looking forward to seeing what she comes up with. :-D
Really pleased with the quality of many of the submissions I've seen so far so feeling pretty optimistic about the project, all round.
It's also quite educational on the other side of the desk. All that stuff that they tell you in writerly advice columns about formatting, proofreading, professional behavior, sticking to the theme of a themed publication, etc., etc, - all true.
