Writing update
Feb. 3rd, 2015 11:21 am2015 so far:
More house stuff, work stuff, publishing stuff, Mom stuff to wade through. Hoping some things get less stressful soon, as then there will be more writing.
- Essay on Irene Adler as a character in recent TV and film adaptations of Sherlock Holmes submitted. Spoiler alert: I'm not a big fan of the recent depictions. I like Elementary's the best, thus far, but that gets messy because the character is merged with Moriarty. But, hey, Natalie Dormer is awesome. I hope to see better depictions soon.
- Moriarty story with Adler as character submitted for the The Mammoth Book of Moriarty Stories.
- In the works: a new Emily story to send to the nice publishers in Hong Kong who seem to like my work. a QDSF story, and maybe a Cthulthu piece for one of the several options currently open. And maybe a Jack the Ripper story for editor who asked me to think about one this morning. May also be getting a reprint out as part of a friend's tea-selling business; we'll see how that goes. Revisions to the lesbian cyberpunk erotic novel continue apace. Werewolves and other stuff hanging about and periodically picked back up.
- Accepted thus far: "The Cask and the Amontillado," a queer retelling of Poe's story, by Tales of the Unanticipated
