It makes a big difference Legal recognition has made a huge difference for us, financially and socially (we'll leave aside the question of whether or not it should for another occasion). The fact remains that financially and socially, it's been a boon and I'm glad that more of my peeps get to share in the good bits. I give you the incredible awesomeness that is the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, stomping all over Idaho and Nevada's anti-marriage bills:
