Last week's adventures:

• Back went out, overtime, misc. disasters
• Writing new sfnal (nonerotic) novella for October reading at DreamHaven, because why not?
  
• First chapter of erotic sf novel off to editor for project appraisal
  
• Next SF Signal column inching forward
  
• Opera, Pucchini's La Fanciulla del West. Interesting idea and premise, like many things about the heroine, good performance, found the narrative flow silly.
  
• Orphan Black, which is AWESOME

This week's adventures thus far:

• Very helpful nurse who Mom liked and would cooperate with moved on to other things. New nurse: no clue, no followup so far. Not looking forward to the next few weeks
• Work will also be unpleasant as my useful and capable assistant is off to go visit family in India for 3 weeks.
  
• Nice dinner with friends last night
  
• Jana has a cold
  
• We got a revised tax return/ Huzzah!
  
• This week's house adventure - getting the furnace checked out and cleaned.
