It's been...not the best month ever. I spent about 8 days being sick and am still recovering, day job got unpleasant, WisCon stuff was...well, as it has been for the last year, and Mom has had some exciting ups and downs. So I'm still digging myself out, in some respects. The good part is that it has all made me start to think far more seriously about a project that I'd been backburnering for a long time, as a "some day" endeavor. I decided that "some day" is getting a lot closer and I'm tired of wondering whether or not it's something I can pull off. I'm not quite ready to announce it yet, but soon.

That said, I'm researching and building a very high level business plan for said new endeavor (just started today!). We had already made some big financial changes to absorb the costs of moving Mom out to the Midwest and we're now tackling more hardcore financial planning for debt reduction, saving and retirement. I'm going to try and add business financial planning to the mix since we're making progress in the other areas. Also related, now that I'm not as sick, I'm doubling down on the rewrite of the novel that I'm planning on indie-publishing. My suspicion that it needed vigorous edits has been pretty accurate thus far and I think it will greatly improve the overall quality (and make whichever editor I send it to and my beta readers a lot  happier). I've got some short story proposals drafted for a trad publisher so I should get those out soon as well. Anyway, lots of new projects and I'm finally getting more excited about them, instead of just panicking and running in circles about Mom stuff, job stuff and so forth. Yay! :-)

More news as I go along.
