And I'm in that "it's time to make some changes" mode. I'm still waiting on book contract news and that will greatly impact what comes next. But the short version is that I want more time to write as I think it will make me happier and considerably more productive. I work a more than 40 hour a week gig and have to fit writing in around that, family stuff and the remains of my social life, plus promotion. I'm finding middle age less conducive to all that than being in my late 30s. So...exploring options. I can go back to being a contractor and try and take off more time between gigs. I can try and find something else to do other than IT. And there are things I know how to do: marketing, networking, sales, analysis, canning, organizing things, etc. It's just the putting that together in a way that enables me to support self and family that's the tricky part. Suggestions are welcome on that score.
In the meantime, I'm in the home stretch of the erotic sf novel full draft and am plugging away at guest blog posts. The tree is up so now it's just finishing the cards and planning meals and get-togethers. Plus, more writing , natch.
It's been a full year, with lots of changes and lots of possibilities opening up. Now to figure out what to do with them.
