Thoughts on holiday shopping

For those of you out shopping today: please consider where your money is going. Walmart is not a bastion of worker's rights and costs you more in taxes because so many of its workers get public assistance. Hobby Lobby is notorious for homophobia as well as for suing to avoid paying for birth control for female employees (see also Eden Organics). If you consider this a time of year when you focus on spirituality and ethics, this is pretty simple thing to change: buy less crap from places that treat their workers and their environments (social and physical) like garbage.
