Happy post!
Jun. 10th, 2013 11:54 amA couple of bits of awesome news today:
First, Kathleen Warnock, the editor of Cleis Press' Best Lesbian Erotica series, emailed me this morning to let me know that the 2014 guest editor, the amazing Sarah Schulman, picked my story "Reunion at St. Mary's" for BLE 2014. I think Schulman is pretty awesome and I love most of her work that I've read so I'm pretty thrilled that she liked my work. :-D Actual publication is based on publisher final say, of course, and I should mention that Kathleen said she's still notifying people, so if you haven't heard yet, don't despair.
Then Steampunk author Rachael Acks (another author you should be reading) posted her Ten Women in Science Fiction and Fantasy list on the Musa Publishing blog. It includes Tamora Pierce, Lois McMaster Bujold, Nnedi Okorafor Jo Walton, Naomi Novik, Anne Bishop, Lynn Flewelling, Anne McCaffrey and, um...me. To say that I'm wildly honored does not begin to cover it. :-D
In other news, we found a car and are sorting out the final details to pick it up later on this week. And I may have found a place for Mom with openings in the not too distant future. *Does happy dance of hopefulness for a phenomenal week*
