Went to Iron Man 3 on Friday and have been snarking about it on Facebook ever since.  I didn't think it was an awful movie by any means, but I did think it blew a lot of potential. There's a lot of humor and set-up in the first half, which then gets scrapped in the final third, something that drives me nuts. Oh well. My companions really enjoyed the explosions in the last part, so I suppose mileage varies on that.

Saturday was a weird mix of day job, errands (the thrill of changing banks, part the first. Whee!) and odds and ends around the house.
Somewhere in there, I got interviewed for John DeNardo's Kirkus column on  writers who develop novel-length works from their short fiction. John was also nice enough to ask me to a do a guest blog for SF Signal, so I'm mulling over topics. Anything in particular you'd like me to write about, blogosphere?

Sunday, I finished up and fired off a new literary flash fiction piece to submit for the Paper Darts Short Fiction Award, then we were off to meet poet and artist Terry Garey for lunch at The Modern Times. Then Jana and I headed over for the May Day Parade and had a fine time running into friends and chatting with people. We caught the entire parade, but didn't last until the sun got rowed across Powderhorn Lake, unfortunately. Instead we headed home so Jana could take care of her back and I could do some yard work. I went on to do some novel revisions to one of the novels in progress before we got wrapped up in The Bletchley Circle, which was pretty good. I'm hoping to break 25k words on one novel, 20k words on the other and perhaps finish off another short story this week. We'll see how it goes.
