catherineldfWent to book and paper artist Jeff Rathermel's opening at Traffic Zone Center for Visual Art in downtown Minneapolis last night. Jeff is a longtime family friend who does spectacular work, and this is some of his best. Minnesota Monthly really loved it. Highly recommended!
Tonight, I'm off to Hamline with friends to catch Theater Unbound's Xtreme Theater Smackdown (formerly the 24 Hour Play Festival). Theater Unbound is dedicated to performing lays written and directed by women; the Smackdown is an annual event which features plays written, rehearsed and performed within 24 hours. It's bunches of fun and we try to go every year.
Which means I will miss Boneshaker Book's 2nd Anniversary Party tonight. Boneshaker is a volunteer-run progressive bookstore located in Seward, behind the Second Moon Coffee on Franklin. Also well worth checking out and highly recommended.
Quick reminder - I'll be doing a reading from new works and a few older ones at Subtext: A Bookstore (in St. Paul in the old Uncommon Books space under Nina's Coffee on Selby) on Wednesday, January 23 at 7PM. Hope some of you can make it!
