Catching up to Saturday

catherineldfNot the best week ever on the homefront. Some unknown thing happened the other night, possibly a cat passing through the yard, and now Ma'at is convinced that her brother, Shu, is a strange new cat. Shu seems to think they're playing some weird new game, at least until she tries to attack him. We've got them separated, which means they howl constantly because they're lonely. There's cat pheromone diffusers running in several rooms (she destroyed the pheromone collar we put on her) but they haven't had time to take effect yet. We're tired and frustrated, they're stressed and puking. Good times all around. :-(
Next up, we go to the vet and get her dosed with something to calm her down, unless the pheromones work wonders by Monday. This sucks, in a not good, not fun way.
In other news, I caught a great show at St. Cate's last night with my friend, Sheila. Local hiphop phenom Dessa performed an amazing show with some other locals including Aby Wolf and Black Blondie. It sold out, not surprisingly, so I was glad I got our tickets in time. And there were shadow puppets, which makes many things more awesome. Some of Dessa's performance energy reminds me of Ani Difranco when I first saw her, back before she made it big.
In other news, I just back from our local Native American (owned, operated and selling handmade gifts and art made by different artisans) gift shop, Northland Visions, where I picked up several wolf-related giveaway items for various launch things that I'm planning for "Silver Moon."' One of the owners is trying to track down a few more things for me as well. The general plan right now is that in addition to the readings and blog appearances, I'll be doing a fundraiser for Defenders of Wildlife's wolf preservation programs as well as for the Wolf Center up in Ely, MN. Stay tuned for details.
Now on to finishing up a draft of a guest blog post and cat herding.
