Launching 2012
Jan. 1st, 2012 12:32 pmFound out Friday that the screaming pain in my hip is bursitis, overlaying the early stages of osteoarthritis. Not a big surprise, per se. But depressing. And ouchy. I am, however, now getting treatment for the bursitis and it's starting to help. Baby steps on the other.
I woke up realizing that I was late on one guest blog post, hadn't done any novel revisions yesterday because a. we had lovely friends over and b. everything hurt and I was tired, and that I also now have a second guest blog post due in the next few days. Just turned in my programming suggestions for Marscon 2012 and am now cracking away at the tasks at hand.
Goals for tonight: homemade pizza and Downton Abbey catch-up.
Goals for 2012: I'd like to finish one of the other novels in progress and build my readership. I'd love to see Hellebore and Rue and A Day at the Inn, A Night at the Palace and Other Stories win an award each of the ones they are currently up for (in various combinations) - Lambdas, Goldies, Tiptree, Spectrums, Nebulas and IPPYs. I'd like less dysfunctional day jobs and less pain in 2012, please. And I'd love to be a GOH at a convention sometime in the nearish future. Most of these are wishes, not goals, of course. But here's thinking good thoughts about 2012 and wishing for good things for all of us.
