catherineldfIn one of those random things that occur in my life from time to time, I've been asked to participate in an online book auction to benefit First Book LCSC. First Book is a national organization that provides, you guessed it, first books to low income kids. The Lewis-Clark State College chapter "serves children in Nez Perce, Lewis, Idaho and Clearwater counties in Idaho and Asotin County in Washington. During the upcoming year, 8,200 new books will be given to more than 800 disadvantaged children who are enrolled in literacy programs."
I've never been to Idaho or done anything with First Book before but this struck me as some good and important work that I wanted to support. So I've sent in a signed copy of my collection A Day at the Inn, A Night at the Palace and Other Stories and it is currently up for auction out here, along with other signed books by other people who think this is good and important work. Please check it out, bid if you can and spread the word.
