and still unpacking. I loved this year!
Some highlights (more details when rested):
Dinner with Melissa Scott, Steve (
mroctober),Rob (
robgates), Shari and Jana. Melissa pronounced the evening a success because she was laughing so much she had to use her inhaler twice.
Friday night, I was on 'Livestyles of the Rich and Supernatural' panel with L. Timmel Duchamp, Carla Lee and Holly Black plus a room full of fun enthusiastic people who enjoyed and contributed to a lively discussion on paranormal romance.
At a party afterward, Nina Kiriki Hoffman stopped by to chat more on the topic, then informed our pal Shari that her 'tongue was a beautiful color.' Points for best bizarre complement. :-)))
Saturday morning Farmer's Market. Yay! Jam and soap, only not together in one container.
Lunch with Rebecca, Julia and Katie. Katie has done a lovely photo of a neck and jaw, framed by a black leather jacket and the subject's cheek. It is, of course, called 'Vampire Erotic.'
She has promised to tell me when the next one is ready so I can buy a copy. Same basic subject, only there's sunlight on the neck. This one is 'Vampire Edge Play.' This pleases me greatly. :-)))
Saturday afternoon I am on 'SM in Science Fiction' panel. Interesting discussion. I may never look at some authors the same again.
Saturday late afternoon - 'Sarcasm and Superheroics' panel with Jenni Moody, Charlie Anders, Rachel Edidin and Karen Healey. Very lively panel on taking back mainstream superheroes comics and why comic violence again women and girls is vile, evil and needs to be stopped. Lots of good comics suggestions and info. Join GirlWonder.org and sign up for When Fangrrls Attack for starters.
Dinner with many people afterward. Lively discussion on poetry and the state of bookselling, among other topics.
Skipped the auction to rest up for the evening fun.
Saturday night official reading - 'Fay Goddesses and Little Deaths' with Kat Sojourner, Victoria McManus and Rachael M. Haring. Went well despite the differences in subject matter. I thought everyone put in a really nice reading and kept all their stories gripping and worth sitting through.
Saturday night unofficial reading - the Haiku Earring Party midnight smut special! Hanne and Lori were fabulous as always. Thanks again to both of them, the wonderful Elise, the marvelous Katie and the other nice woman whose name I didn't catch for helping set up and clean up.
Sunday - sauna, brunch with Rez (yay!!!), then shopping! Got the very, very cool new Nicola Griffith memoir boxed set (http://www.payseurandschmidt.com/index.shtml). Signed copies of my book for the various wonderful people who purchased them. Rather a lot of them. :-)))
Went back to Dealer's Room this morning - acquired more fun things (beautiful dagger earring from Darlene Coltrain :-), some books and sold a copy or two more of mine to the unwary from the DreamHaven table. I even squeed over the diminished stack for the amusement of my friends. Made friends very happy as squeeing is an unusual event.
Had other lovely meals and chats with
starkeymonster,
misia,
kalmn and bunches of other cool and fun folks.
And I've got three stories (from 'Night's Kiss') nominated for the Spectrum Award - http://www.spectrumawards.org/2007.htm. Am very, very pleased. :-)))

Date: 2007-05-31 01:09 pm (UTC)Mixposure is still down, so the mixposurites are scattered to the wind. I am
on soundlcick, BritBand, and Project Overseer Productions (popspace). My song
Jade was #1 on BritBand for about a week. Have written some very intense and
more guitar oriented tunes since I got my new Line6 guitar amp. I think you will
like Gateway II (ambient), and probably Live Another Day, and maybe Prisoner.
I will post a lengthy update on my LJ today sometime, so you can just check
there for the links and such.
Congrats on the BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
