Sep. 5th, 2011 01:01 pmJust learned that my Spectrum Award short fiction finalist fantasy story "At the Roots of the World Tree" will be reprinted in Northern Lights 2, which, like the first volume, will be edited by Michael Merriam and published by Sam's Dot Publishing. Northern Lights 1 and 2 are collections of stories by local MN sf/f/h authors. You can view Vol. 1 here and I believe that Vol. 2 will be out by the end of the year or early 2012. "Roots" is about a young gay man who runs into an unexpected adventure with the Norns and miscellaneous figures from Norse Mythology.
Earlier this week, fabled author/editor/raconteur M. Christian accepted my reprint story "On the Spanish Main" for Yo Ho Ho: Pirate Erotica, forthcoming from Renaissance Books. This is my version of the first meeting between pirates Anne Bonney and Mary Read. It has appeared in Set in Stone: Butch Erotica and Electric 2: Best Lesbian Erotic Fiction, as well as in my own collection Night's Kiss. It's always lovely to see one's work achieve enduring popularity (or at least a small degree of continuing appeal) . :-)
In the meantime, I'm trying to get caught up on deadlines and such and get organized for heading out to the EAA Convention this week. It promises to be lively.
