Odds and ends
Aug. 20th, 2010 08:36 pmFirst, signal boost - help-pakistan is a fandom auction to raise money to help Pakistan recover from the recent devastating floods. There's a comprehensive list of charities to donate to, as well.
Then the rest of my week. Well, not on a par with global disasters but certainly could have been better. The current biggest source of work stress got removed yesterday, but left a sizable vacuum behind and I paid for the lack of sleep with a doozie headache. I decided today's migraine was bad enough to leave work for the day when I literally passed out for a few seconds while on hold (in the midst of closing out my account at a community investment bank about to taken over by the FDIC, no less). Seeing as I was well into overtime, my manager ordered me home. I'll pay for it on Monday for a variety of reasons, but lordie, it was worth it today. Bleah. :-(((
I'm feeling marginally better now and am well into anthology edits. Hellebore and Rue is shaping up really well - this is going to be a fine little book with stories by a bunch of terrific writers, many of them on their first or second sale. I'll post the TOC when we're a bit further on.
I'm also hoping to make some serious progress on Silver Moon this weekend. I'm at the last big scene just before I need to tie everything together and I'm wrestling a bit with what will happen to my villain. She's not evil exactly but the consequences of her actions are pretty intense. I don't think I'll be killing her off but I haven't worked out the details on what I will do just yet. Then there's a few other loose ends to tie up. Then revisions before it can go to my beta readers.
