What I'm listening to this week
Aug. 18th, 2010 08:18 pmTori Amos, Tales from a Librarian - traditionally, not a huge Tori fan as she's a bit mellow for me, but I'm really liking this collection. Nice range from the quirky to the powerful, plus a dance track or two for good measure.
Blackmore's Night, Secret Voyage - Not as strong as Ghost of a Rose, alas. Pleasant, well done Renfest style music though.
Dessa, A Badly Broken Code - Love, love, love this album by local hip-hop artist Dessa, also known as the front woman for Doomtree. "Dutch" is on my permanent play list.
Michael Franti and Spearhead, All Rebel Rockers - excellent contemporary politiical reggae. Yell Fire! is a fine album too.
Abney Park, Aether Shanties - for all your steampunk musical needs plus they put on a great live show. Haven't found a track I don't like on this one yet.
