The weekend wrap-up
Mar. 13th, 2011 06:11 pmSpent Saturday working on the interreview for Tracy Godsey's blog (see previous post) and running errands. Then caught a matinee of "The Illustionist" (by the folks who did "Triplets of Belleville."). We liked the animation a lot and found the story pleasantly melancholy and very grounded in French cinema. Definitely more of a grown-up animated movie than what we're accustomed to here. After that, it was dinner and catching up with friends.
Sunday morning brought the horror of Daylight Savings (I hate losing an hour, then feeling disoriented all day). We caught Sunday Morning, donated to the Japanese earthquake relief out at Network for Good and the Wisconsin recall out at ActBlue (my favorite so far: WI Senator Randy Hopper and his enthusiastic embrace of traditional family values; other sources report that his estranged wife is signing the recall petition, as is their housekeeper). Then I got to participate in a fun and fabulous Outer Alliance podcast recording hosted by Julia Rios, along with Jean Marie Ward and Lisa Nohealani Morton to promote Hellebore and Rue. I'm really looking forward to hearing the final on that, which should be out by next weekend.
Now there are more edits and a blurb I need to work on to be followed by the chili and cornbread I just whipped up. Then back to day jobbery tomorrow.
