Next year's events and beyond...
Nov. 28th, 2010 05:33 pmI'm lining up 2011 events already, which seems kind of wacky but that's just because other people are more organized than I am (or have day jobs that don't eat their brains).
I'm scheduled for the following so far:
Marscon 2011 - March 4-6, Minneapolis. I'll be one of the sundry writing guests and will be on panels and doing a reading and such.
The Speculations Reading Series at DreamHaven Books, some time in March which is not Marscon weekend. I will be reading about werewolves and probably some other things.
Gaylaxicon 2011 - May 13-15, Atlanta. Outlantacon was kind enough to invite me as a guest last year but I couldn't make it. This year, I'll be there with bells, or maybe gears, on, doing miscellaneous programming items. Amber Benson is GOH, so take note all you Tara fans out there.
WisCon 35 - May 26-30, Madison. At which I will do stuff of varying kinds that will no doubt include a panel or two or three.
CONvergence 2011 - June 30-July 3, Minneapolis. Panels and a reading, presumably.
And speaking of beyond, Gaylaxicon 2012 is back in the Twin Cities. Early bird registration has just opened up here.
On a more random note, I've been thinking about artist Remedios Varo and paintings like this one - Exploration of the Source of the Orinoco, which I have always loved and which now is resonating for me as Steampunk. I recommend checking out her other work as well; it's full of machinery and surreal things like vegetarian vampires and phantom bankers and clockwork critters.
