Kissed by Venus runs my Top Ten list

This is my top ten lesbian protagonists list that I mentioned a few weeks back. I tried to focus on character-driven fiction in which a protag self-identifed as a lesbian, but am now contemplating doing more of a queer women's list out here. Who should I think about including?

The first names that come to mind are Pippi Longstocking and Nancy Drew! (kind of proto-lesbian characters - the first many of us ever encountered outside Greek mythology). Will have to ponder this further.
