Odds and ends
Feb. 14th, 2010 12:13 pmFirst of all - Happy Valentine's Day!
It's not open for bids until 2/24 but Con_or_bust is up for posting items right now (Con_or_bust is the fandom auction to provide scholarships to send more fen of color to WisCon). Upstart_crow and I have posted a combination package of both of our previously edited anthologies, Sleeping Beauty, Indeed and Other Lesbian Fairytales and Haunted Hearths and Sapphic Shades. Between the 2, we've got an amazing line-up of authors (Valente, Scott, YellowBoy, McConchie and other terrific authors), plus 2 stories which finaled for the Spectrum and 2 which finaled for the Vogel Awards. Check out the fine things up for bid and come back on the 24th!
It's been a weekend thus far. I talked to my once-and-future-manager at the day job on Friday and it looks like I may be able to transition over to him when my current projects are done. Then there will be many trips to Atlanta, among other things. Part of the good news (apart from the whole, yay, I have a job aspect) is the possibility of me making it to OutLantaCon, the cool new LGBT con in lovely Atlanta (this year featuring Nicola Griffith and Cecilia Tan). The not so cool part is that the con's the same weekend as Mayday, our wonderful, wonderful local celebration of spring. I adore Mayday. Urgh. Have to see what next week brings on the corporate decision-making front.
Apart from that, spent Friday night in a state of collapse, Saturday shopping for our big trip and Saturday night doing revisions to Silver Moon. Today,we're off to an artist's book release party at MCBA, followed by dinner at home, then a flamenco concert at the Cedar Cultural Center.
I'm still hoping to get a story draft done before I have to go back in on Tuesday, but we'll have to see how that goes.
