WisCon programming suggestions...

Me, I'm toying with the idea of attending as a 'civilian' instead of a pro this year, largely because I'm doing the guest thing at A-Kon 2010 the very next weekend and want to be at my best. I will also confess to a bit of con/panel burnout. And it's Jana's 50th birthday WisCon weekend so I'm thinking I'd like to spend time with her.  I believe this would make the first time in 13 or so years that I haven't done programming at WisCon, which is pretty amazing. Now, because I said this, I'll have a great idea for a panel in the next day or two...

I have to confess that at WisCon I neither sit on nor attend panels, and I always have a wonderful time . . .

Well, in theory, I'm supposed to be flogging the three books I have in print, plus the new editing project that just got approved but doesn't exist yet. Cons are a tax write-off for me, on those years when I do make a profit from my writing, so no programming = no promotion, fewer sales and no tax write-off. They haven't been about the socializing in a very long time, alas. :-(

Re: the wiscon community. Yep, it's wildly useful, particularly closer to con time. Lots of hotel and travel and panel info.
