Since I'm not sure I have much to say that isn't being said better and more topically elsewhere, I thought I'd put forth a list of books by writers of color of sf/f/h currently on my recently read or soon to be read list. The reason behind this is that I'm had a fair number of con conversations with other writers and fans over the years that sooner or later wander around to the point that we (as in Euro-American writers/fen) aren't particularly adventurous readers. Most of us read the white, male canon and not much beyond that, with a few exceptions.
It strikes me that this is not good for the worldview, among other things. I think that when we sit down to write, we tend to recreate what's familiar to us. Hard not to notice that that's not going too well.

That said, this is hardly a comprehensive or representative list, merely a randon perusal of my book cases (and boxes. And floor space.). I'm looking forward to more recommendations so feel free to send some more on. What haven't I discovered yet?
