I wanted to let everyone know that True Colors (formerly Amazon) Bookstore down at Chicago and 47th in Minneapolis was held up at gunpoint yesterday. Fortunately, the owner and staff weren't injured but there were some loses, not to mention the freak-out factor. True Colors is now the sole remaining feminist/LGBT bookstore in the Twin Cities and they could really use some support (and some book buying) right about now. I know times are tough but they also carry a lot of used books at very reasonable prices (and they can order in just about any title you want). Tell your friends, buy your birthday gifts there, check out the readings and give them whatever support you can to get through this.

Date: 2009-03-15 02:01 pm (UTC)The store is in the process of a name change (from Amazon Feminist Coop to True Colors) due to a long settled lawsuit and change in ownership, hence the two different names - http://www.amazonfembks.com/
Thanks for the reminder and the thought! :-)
