We ended up with 14 for brunch, many of whom also went to the parade. It was lots of fun though quite late as usual so we missed the ritual so we could go hear [profile] rachelkb read down at the Smitten Kitten.
[profile] evilroygato was both delightful and useful. She and my beloved got to be very butch and mount the microwave on the kitchen wall as yet another step forward in the endless kitchen remodel. Someday, I will have a stove in the my kitchen again! (You can't see it, but I'm waving a bunch of grimy radishes over it as it sits in the living room :-).
All in all, a good weekend, though quite low on writing time.
I'm up to my eyeballs in book publicity - ads, announcements, reading scheduling, release party planning, etc. Urgh.
Oh yeah, and I have a WisCon schedule.Yay!

Title: Balancing Creativity And The Day Job
"Unfortunately, most of us can't support ourselves with our prose, nor do we have patrons who pay our bills for us. So how do you cram a nine-to-five job, a commute, exercise, writing, a personal life, errands, chores, entertainment, and adequate sleep into a twenty-four hour day without totally losing your mind? There is currently a thread on the Erotic Readers & Writers list on how to juggle it all - it's a popular topic. (I read on the bus to & from work - wouldn't work for everyone.) Here's a possible solution: Be a writing Hermit (kick out your S.O.s & live alone) - definitely wouldn't work for most people. My WisCon schedule arrived too. I'm excited, but the rest of the local Pride Week committee is not thrilled that I'll be away just before the event. Here is a workshop I would like to see: how to recruit fresh blood to replace oneself on committees. :)

Yay, I'll get to meet you!

This is my first panel, ever. So of course I'm wondering, "Am I really anyone to talk about how to balance the day job and the writing? I'm always so stressed out."

See you there ;-)
