"Girlfriends"

Slice of la vida loca: We were over at Shari (writer S.N. Arly) and Steve's house on Saturday, hanging out in the kitchen. The kids, Beren and Ranna, were off running around in the living room, periodically returning to the kitchen to see what we were doing, to urge us to play (Jana plays a mean game of Matchbox car racing, apparently) and so forth. Ranna, who's all of 3.5 years old, suddenly appeared in the doorway and asked a question, punctuated by swinging her hip to one side, holding one hand out in a chatting motion and addressing us as "Girlfriends." We laughed so hard her question never got answered.
Her mother's comment was, "I'm not sure what they're watching at daycare these days."
We're hoping for "RuPaul's Drag Race" in time for our next visit. :-D
