How I'm spending my time
Jun. 9th, 2013 10:43 amWacky week with a mad burst of activity on multiple levels.
- Got the bank accounts switched over to the credit union (better rates, closer to home)
- Test drove and loved a new Honda Fit last night. Paperwork today, finalize, trade in Jana's truck and pick up on Thursday
- Talked to new cu about house refinancing and got started on that
- Still no luck on a place for Mom so that'll be this week's adventure, along with everything else.
And so, because things are this way, I also was contacted this very last week by the new acquisitions editor of a large romance/erotica publisher and she wants to see a book proposal. I have something in prog, but it's not quite there yet. And I've never written a novel proposal before. So while I do all this other stuff, I get to learn to do some level of outlining and pull together a proposal. Why? Well, the prospect of filthy lucre, which will be essential. This publisher is of the size and variety that a number of its authors do quite well, even outside the straight romance/erotica bubble. And it's a challenge. I'd be an idiot to not give it a try. So we get to find out what I can do under real pressure. Promises to be a lively few weeks, at least.
