Wondering if...

signs of adulthood are measured in cookware and appliances? Just acquired a double-boiler today, largely so that Jana can make carrot pudding the way she wants to. It is a new addition to the pizza stone, peel, scraper and slicer bought a few months back so I could make pizza from scratch (3 times so far). Plus the rice cooker/veggie steamer, the bread machine, the convection oven, the food processor and the waffle iron (fallen out of favor over the summer). And not including canning equipment, which is, of course, essential. Now all we need is time to cook.

It's been a fine holiday weekend, with actual downtime and reading time and cleaning time and cooking time and the draft of a new story finished. Tomorrow, planned activities include dropping off items at Covet Consignment (decluttering) and making cranberry-orange marmalade. Basking in sense of accomplishment.
