Odds and ends
Jan. 7th, 2012 08:14 pmThe 2012 Lesbian Fiction Appreciation Event has kicked off today with a post on lesbian romance by Radclyffe and a book giveaway from Bold Strokes Books. Keep checking in, since there'll be giveaways and new posts every day. My post on lesbian characters in sf/f goes live on 1/10. I'll be giving away a signed copy of A Day at the Inn, A Night at the Palace and Other Stories in a random drawing from folks commenting on the blog post, winner to be announced 1/21.
In other news, Morgen Bailey tells me that my guest blog post "Do's and Don'ts of Self-Promotion for Writers" is her highest traffic guest blog to date. Huge thanks to everyone who read and recommended it!
So...this week has involved finishing revisions to a novel, the writing of 2 guest blog posts and a less-than-triumphant return to the day job. Also dead computer and minor but time-consuming car problems. Not surprisingly, I'm pretty tired. Last night, our pal Rebecca came over for dinner and the watching of "The Vampire Lovers," a 1970s vision of lesbian vampires. It was not particularly good, though we enjoyed making fun of it. Today, we were a two-woman economic stimulus package: new MacBook (Jana gets the repaired one and her ancient laptop gets donated), haircut, spontaneous purchase of totally hot black tuxedo-like jacket for Jana as early anniversary/Valentine's Day gift, new watchband to replace my decaying one, new box spring to replace our sagging one, new china to replace the massively chipped plates we eat off, and so on. Now to go take down the Yule tree and do some long overdue cleaning. And planning of book release tour. I know I'm tired when my hairdresser has to remind me to set up a Twin Cities event for a book!
