Starting off on the giant bundle of fun that is self-promotion. I'm lucky enough to have 2 blog interviews lined up already - the redoubtable author Morgen Bailey who runs a podcast and a writing blog here along with myriad other projects geared toward getting writers started and helping them promote their work, and the Outer Alliance blog, which is full of general awesomeness about being LGBTQ and allied in sf and f. I'll post links when they're available. Otherwise, it's the Twin Cities Book Fest next weekend, Arcana the weekend after and a reading at True Colors Bookstore in November (featuring special guest author Michael Merriam). I'm trying a few other things as well and will post as I know more.
I'm also now signed up for Kindlegraph. I can sign your Kindle copies of all of my books except Hellebore and Rue (note below as to why), including A Day at the Inn, A Night at the Palace and Other Stories. I also have bookplates for my print books which I'm happy to sign and send out upon request. Ping me on the latter or leave a request on Kindlegraph if you're interested. Ain't technology grand? :-)
Speaking of Kindle editions of Hellebore and Rue, at the moment, they're in flux. Drollerie Press, the original press which did the lovely design and put out the ebook edition of Hellebore, is closing its doors. This is a sad day, as they produced some fine titles with some of the best ebook design I've ever seen. Unfortunately, health issues make it impossible for the owner to continue, but I do hope that things improve in the near future and want to say a huge thank you for all the hard work that Drollerie did with H&R. That said, Lethe Press has expressed interest in the ebook rights (it's already doing the print version) and once we get the various agreements settled, we should have a new Kindle/ebook version out pretty soon.
And a quick reminder, Kathryn Allen and I will be co-moderating the Twitter chat on feminist and outsider cyberpunk tomorrow (10/9) at 2PM Eastern. Sign into Twitter and participate using the Feminist SF hashtag #.
On a personal note, it has been a WEEK. Started out with an ear infection which cleared up and got replaced with some back issues. On the bright side, my plantar's and other problems are clearing up. And I'm very excited about the new book. It should be a fun Fall.
