Something a tad overdue.
I just got and read my copy of Issue 00 of indie comic
The People That Melt in the Rain, a new comic by Carolyn and Mike Dubisch. The artwork's quite nice and the story's got some real potential. It's an ensemble cast comic set in a town called Deluge where the rain can bring anything from acid scars to flowers. I'm looking forward to seeing where they go with it.

Madame Xanadu: Disenchanted, Vol.1 from DC/Vertigo. Interesting story line about a female magic user (Nimue from Arthurian legend) who travels through time having various and sundry adventures. The artwork by Amy Reeder Hadley and Richard Friend is quite striking, though I haven't had a chance to read the story yet. And it is, I have just learned, canceled, despite winning an Eisner. Oh well, there's 2 more books to go through if I like it.

Cursed Pirate Girl from Olympian Publishing, written and drawn by Jeremy Bastian. Because, you know, I was going to be able to resist anything with this title. Looking forward to finding out if this one lives up to its artwork.

Should fill the time nicely while I wait for Gail Simone, Ted Naifeh and Colleen Doran to crank out their next books.
