Settling into a rainy Sunday
Nov. 21st, 2010 12:01 pmThere's freezing drizzle outside so it'll be indoors kind of day now that the composting and recycling and putting down of grit part of my morning is over. It's been a good weekend thus far. Friday night, I attended Jason Wittman's reading at DreamHaven and went out afterwards with the crew. Jason did a fine job and it was great to see people post-work. Saturday morning, Jana and I hit the Minnesota Center for Book Arts Book Festival, her to socialize and pick things up, me to buy some gifts and letterpress cards (Jana is once again a finalist for Book Artist of the Year - here's hoping second time is the charm). From there, it was on to our pal Beth's for brunch with a delightful group of her friends. Both the food and the conversation were excellent. After that, it was running errands until we went off to go see Deathly Hallows, Part 1. The latter is an entertaining cinematic experience - performances are good, cinematography is excellent and the pacing is much, much faster than that last book. We all enjoyed both it and the expedition for tea at Tea Source afterward.
Today, I'm looking at the first of the beta reader feedback on Silver Moon. I received some great suggestions and am looking forward to implementing them as well as seeing what comes back from my other folks. I'm also poking away at some other projects until it's time to make chickpea/spinach/rice soup this afternoon.
Also, by request - cute kitty photos, just because.
I interrupted the morning bath to take this one:

And Shu decided to nest in a blue tarp on the porch last week. The lighting makes his eyes glow like a Jawa. :-)
