Writing news and hilarity

My story "Karen Leaves Her Husband for the First Time" has just appeared in The Mammoth Book of Threesomes and Moresomes, edited by the prolific Linda Alvarez, out with bright shiny suggestive cover photo from UK publisher Robinson and in blurry, soft focus US cover from Running Press. Apparently, the sight of naked, skinny Caucasian women cavorting on a book cover will undermine American morals. Insert eyeroll here. But no worries, as it appears that there will be a third cover(!) when the book hits the US stands in October. This time, it's 2 men and a woman and everyone's wearing underwear. Collect the set! Okay, maybe this is kind of hilarious.
In any case, it's quite the lineup of authors and should be an excellent collection; Alvarez does good work under all of her various personas.
In something of a bolt from the blue, my story "The Letter of Marque" has just been accepted for the October issue of Lacuna: A Journal of Historical Fiction. I am deeply, deeply pleased seeing as a. I had forgotten that I'd sent the story to them (in my defense, there were some issues with a bounced email and the editor being on hiatus) and b. because I love this story! It's got passing women pirates, French female spies (think Milady, only less one dimensional) and nefarious plots, all set in the seventeenth century Caribbean. I am very happy it has found a home, though I may have to make it a novel of its very own.
Then there's the pretty shiny cover for Northern Lights: A MinnSpec Anthology, due out real soon now from Sam's Dot Publishing. This has a fine line-up of local speculative fiction writers and includes my story "Three Views of the Maiden in Peril." News bulletins on release party to follow.
And finally, the hilarity - totally, totally nonworksafe hilarity, in case the title "Fuck Me, Ray Bradbury" doesn't give it away. Can't says as I think he's my all-time favorite but he's written some fine work.
