2.5 days to go...
Sep. 17th, 2009 07:13 pmand I need to finish responding to the (remarkably few) line edits in my novelette, "The Egyptian Cat," which will be appearing in the next issue of Tales of the Unanticipated Magazine. It's a humorous Lovecraftian/Ashton Smith name-checking pulp supernatural mystery of sorts, with lesbian protagonists, and right now, I'm incredibly grateful that I don't have to shear 1000 words or so off it for magazine length. Yay, TOTU! :-D
Also just mowed the yard and am now embarking on the zillions of things that should happen before we get going. Most of it's packing, organizing and such. Herself is off frolicking with her fellow book artists and conservators, leaving me to deal with the "and such." I'd have a premonition of things to come, but we're pretty much always like this. Some weeks, if we're both sufficiently booked (pun intended), it seems like we have separate parallel lives that just intersect at the house. Or maybe I'm just slightly grumpy because I had to de-mushroom the side lawn for the 4th time in as many weeks. Fungi, bleah!
Dress ironed, stockings found, thank-you cards acquired and help lined up for this weekend. Now to load up the new iPhone with emergency contacts and such.
