Sep. 18th, 2006 07:46 pmAfter months and months of writing six stories at the same time (but not the same six stories), the end is in sight! I'm down to the last two for the book and revisions to 2 others for other people (including one to submit to you, Lynne, if you're reading this). Huzzah!
Spent most of the weekend working except for dinner with friends and a jolly couple of hours working registration at the Headwaters Foundation's Walk for Justice. The WfJ is a big fundraiser in these parts for lots of little nonprofits and progressive groups. I've been volunteering at it for a number of years now doing various things. I love the energy - people are usually pretty cheerful and it's fun to do all that lefty networking. This year I've apparently lived here long enough to play six degrees of separation. I drove my neighbor to the walk since she doesn't drive and it turns out that one of my good friends was her first union steward here in the Cities. Then I ran into a friend I haven't seen for awhile and he had just signed up to volunteer at registration. I chatted up the woman next to me and it turned out she's good buddies with someone from my book group. By Twin Cities standards, I've 'arrived'. :-)
And now back to work on those last few thousands of words...
