Mystery event tonight (for locals)

Eric M. Heideman will give a talk, and lead a discussion, on "Masters of
Mystery: Edgar Allan Poe and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle" Tuesday, December 8,
6:30-7:45 p.m., at Southeast Library, 1222 4th St SE, Minneapolis (two
blocks west of the Dinkytown McDonald's).
The talk & discussion commemorate the bicentennial of Poe (1809-1849), who
laid down the principles of detective fiction, and the sesquicentennial of
Conan Doyle (1859-1930), who created the greatest fictional detective. We'll
also touch upon both authors' wide contributions to other forms of literature.
Admission is free. It's a public library!
